About Colorado State University

Colorado State University is a Carnegie Class 1 research-intensive university with world-class research in infectious disease, atmospheric science, clean energy technologies, environmental science and biomedical technology. It was founded in 1870 as the Colorado Agricultural College, six years before the Colorado Territory became a state. The 583-acre campus has more than 28,400 students, and generates research expenditures topping $375 million—placing it high on the list of American public research universities. CSU has more than 1,600 faculty in eight colleges and 55 academic departments. CSU is located in Fort Collins, Colorado, an award-winning city of 165,000 at the base of the Rocky Mountain foothills. Easy access to hiking, skiing, rafting and other outdoor sports is a great advantage to CSU students, faculty and staff. At CSU, students have the opportunity to create a truly unique academic path that’s designed around their goals. We’re well-known for our Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering and our College of Business, as well as for being a Tier 1 Carnegie Research University with $398.5M of annual research funding. Students can choose from more than 75 bachelor’s programs and 80 master’s programs. In addition to providing a first-class education, CSU believes in the principles of community: inclusion, integrity, respect, service and social justice. Students will join a supportive campus with award-winning faculty, 2000+ international students from 110 countries and access to resources to help you succeed.
