Lower Columbia College was established in 1934 as Lower Columbia Junior College.Lower Columbia College offers the advantages of a large institution with the safe, friendly and supportive environment that a small campus provides. Located on 38+ acres near the center of downtown Longview, the campus is close to local neighborhoods, shops and restaurants. Local transit provides free bus service to students with stops every half hour. Scenic Columbia River recreational areas are located nearby. Pacific Ocean beaches are just an hour's drive away. New buildings with state-of-the-art technology are designed to prepare students for in-demand careers, including the Health & Science Building, Gym & Fitness Center, and Rose Center for the Arts. An open-air outdoor Pavilion serves as an inviting entrance into the center of campus and provides an outdoor gathering space for students and community.
